University of Stavanger

Få steder passer vel tuistklisjeen "et Norge i miniatyr" bedre enn nettopp her.

Programme description

Norway is the third largest oil and gas exporter in the world and the Stavanger-region is the undisputed oil capital of Norway. The two-year Master of Science Programme in Offshore Technology is a programme designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the offshore industry.

The study programme consists of general principles and methods that give students the tools to meet and solve challenges on an advanced engineering level, also outside the area of specialisation. Projects and problems in the programme are often taken from the offshore industry and students can avail themselves of the faculty's close contacts with the industry.

The study programme gives the candidates a foundation in mathematical science and basic engineering subjects, which will be applied within one of three different specialisations:

  • Industrial Asset Management
  • Risk Management
  • Subsea Technology

  • The programme prepares students for careers in the international oil and gas industry.
