Programme descriptionThe goal of the programme is to give the student a deep insight into, and a review of the discipline of aquatic ecology, with special emphasis on individuals and populations. Students who have succeeded, will have a good knowledge of aquatic ecological processes and patterns, insight into and experience with use of marine biological field and lab methodologies, and in general methods for studying ecology. The student will also be trained in conducting an independent scientific study.

Formal prerequisitesa) Completed an undergraduate study of at least three years (B.Sc.) from an approved institution of higher education, or an equivalent background accepted by the University of Bergen. b) Competence in biology corresponding to 60 ECTS (1 year) of introductory biology. c) English proficiency must be documented according to specified requirements.
