Programme description

The International Master in Architecture at Bergen Architect School is a Master for foreign architects which already has a master degree in architecture from a technical school. Some of the subjects teached are Greater Number, Open Form and Visual Structure.

As an architect school BAS is teaching both architecture, art, philosophy, sosialantropology and field topics as climate and social structures. The study starts 15 August each year.

It is a full time study, and the 20 months course are organized like this: 3 of the terms are at BAS, and 2 periods are Off term.

  • BAS term 1: Micro scale, Off term 1: assignment for transition into next term.
  • BAS term 2: Mezzo scale, Off term 2: preparation and investigation studies for the Master thesis.
  • BAS term 3: Macro scale. It might be some travelling, workshops and field work, both in Norway and abroad.

    Formal prerequisites

    Foreign Students who have Master in Architecture from a technical architect school. Or Bachelor with additional practical work for a longer period.

    To understand and speak English is a demand.
