| Programme description | The Department of Biology has particularly high competence within fish physiology but you will also be able to work in topics related to medicine, aquaculture, and others. ; A master's programme in biology consists of an individual research project (master's thesis) of 60 ECTS, and courses or special topics of 60 ECTS. Some of the courses are compulsory within the specialisations. You will choose the other courses in agreement with your academic supervisor. ; In agreement with your academic supervisor, you will choose a master's thesis (60 ECTS) and make a progression plan containing important milestones for your project. The master's thesis will often include an experiment. When working with the master's thesis, you will, in an independent way, make use of methods and scientific techniques from the course in the research of a relevant material. The master's thesis can be based on your own field work and /or available data, or it can be of a more theoretical or experimental nature. |
| Application deadline | Self-financing applicants: Application deadline for applicants from a non-visa country (do not need a visa to enter Norway) is 1 April for the autumn semester/1 October for the spring semester.
