| Programme description | Drug development is a long, complicated process requiring the interaction of numerous specialist fields. The many disciplines are rooted in different scientific cultures and languages, and the players involved in the various phases and fields of drug research do not always recognize and understand each other well enough. Growing competition in the industry has led to an increasing need to do a better job of coordinating the many elements in the process. The boom in the number of new small and medium-size biotech and pharmaceutical companies, where a handful of people have to handle all or most of the course of development, has also generated the need for multi-faceted continuing education at a high level. In order to meet the future requirement for employees in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, The faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen (PHARMA) introduced a Master of Industrial Drug Development (MIND) degree program in 2004. |
