| Programme description | The scientific staff supervising the master's projects have specific qualifications within challenges related to chemometrical challenges related to analytical instrumentation. A master's programme in chemistry consists of an individual research project (master's thesis) of 60 ECTS, and courses or special topics of 60 ECTS. Some of the courses are compulsory within the specialisations. You will choose the other courses in agreement with your academic supervisor; In agreement with your academic supervisor, you will choose a master's thesis (60 ECTS) and make a progression plan containing important milestones for your project. Examples of previous master theses: "Use of chemometrics and spectroscopy in a crystallization process within pharmaceutical industrial production", "Control of temperature in the aluminium production". In your master project, you will independently use methods and scientific techniques. The most important methods being used: statistics, mathematics, informatics and multivariate data-analysis. |
| Application deadline | Self-financing applicants: Application deadline for applicants from a non-visa country (do not need a visa to enter Norway) is 1 April for the autumn semester/1 October for the spring semester. | Formal prerequisites | You will need to have a completed bachelor's degree in chemistry. You also need competence in basic general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry corresponding to at least 60 ECTS credits (one year study). Furthermore, you need basic laboratory skills in analytical chemistry and general spectroscopy. When sending the application, please enclose a transcript for the first 3 years of studies, with course descriptions, course hours per week (lab, exercises, etc.), hours of laboratory work. English proficiency must be documented according to specified requirements. |
