The Oslo School of Architecture and Design - AHO

The Oslo school of Architecture and Design is situated in central Oslo, along the Aker river, close to the popular area of Grünerløkka. The school is located in a converted factory building, updated and modernized to suit the needs of the school and its students.

Programme duration5,5 years. Entrance for first year will normally not be possible for foreign applicants as a good knowledge in Norwegian or any of the other Scandinavian languages is required. All instruction the first three years is given in Norwegian. Possible to apply for higher level admission (4th year) - see "Formal prerequisites"
 
Programme descriptionThe Master of architecture programme at AHO has an average duration of 11 semesters - 330 credits. Each semester is woth 30 credits. The first 6 semesters consist of compulsary foundation level teaching. After the foundation level teaching has been completed, the next four semesters consists of a 24-credit studio course and a 6-credit intensive course. The final semester consist of a dimploma assignment of 30 credits.
